Hi, i wanted to put out my thoughts about how could CS2 potentially surpass CSGO in regards to gameplay experience and accessibility, While also trying not to wonder off to ideas that could most likely not align with what the developers want for the game. if you think i've missed something that could make the game better, let me know in the comments 🙂
Fixes:
- Fix third person finishing defuse animation: In CSGO when the CT was ending the defuse you could slowly see that in the last remaining second an animation would play that the CT would slowly go to grab the gun with both hands indicating that he is very close to defusing the bomb, this was such an important visual cue for me but in CS2 this animation is nowhere to be seen. https://youtu.be/RAJEx4N6oeU?si=ndMCn7TcyRNxRG4E

Changes:
- Premier ELO adjustments: It cant be that top 1% is pink which is the third highest rank category in the premier system and theres only one up to 10 golds which most likely are gold because it can only be achieved by cheating i believe this is why people encounter cheaters more often in CS2 rather than in GO because there's a far less grind to reach the 1% as opposed to CSGO. I think valve is more to blame here and could be the reason why people perceive that there's more people cheating than it actually is.
- Give Premier some rank personality: Its way too hard to care about what elo you are on premier because they lack any type of personality which CSGO did flawlessly with an even worse matchmaking system. People are more enganged with a badge that encapsulates a skill level than an over inflated 4-5 digit number, it feels more like im leveling up my exp rather than a rank lol. If valve could re add the old badges (Silver, Nova, GE, etc…) and in between the grind to lvl up to the next rank color make it so as in intervals of 1k points you rank up in that skill category (Example Nova 1 to Nova 2 and so on) that would not only make the grind more rewarding but also have a clearear understanding of the skill disparity in between ranks.
- Replace Competitive to a Normal playlist: it honestly doesnt make sense to have two separate rank systems if you are playing basically the same gamemode as the other rank system its not like it changes the rules or theres other conditions to win its the same gamemode only that one has OT and the other doesnt. This will help giving the newer people in the game less pressure to queue and get accustomed to the 5v5 gamemode before diping their foot towards Premier and consecuentially make premier more competitive because now there's only one competitive gamemode for 5v5.
- Make new shooting sounds! If any dev reads this i would like you to know that i love the new firing sounds you gave to the glock, famas and m249, sound really good! this would honestly gives such a fresh new paint coat to the game and make the game more enjoyable to play. I feel like some guns sounds dont sound as good as they could be and i would really like to see more new sounds.
- Desubtick jump: this should be an easy change that makes bhoping much better and more reliable.
- Nerf Galil, Buff Famas: One of the main reasons why i believe that CS2 is much more favorable to the T's in the MR12 space is because of these guns right here, Because rounds are fewer and losing a round is much more impactful because you have less room to rebuild the economy this types of guns are so important right now in the meta and one is super efficent while the other one is unreliable ill even dare to say that the galil is op, let me elaborate.
- Galil cost's 1800 this being super cheap and easy to obtain even in tight situations and still have some util to spare. This gun has 35 bullets in a mag, being the highest out of any rifle in the game.
- Has 666 rpm this is the same rpm as the M4A4
- Has a better Recoil cooldown than the M4A1 and M4a4
- Same TTK as M4A4 and better TTK long range than M4A1-S
- Recoil is as tight as the M4A1
- Has 77.50% Armor Penetration this is the same as the AK
Really this gun is super busted for what it costs. if you go with only galil's vs M4A4/1's you have EQUAL playing grounds against the CT's and you dont lose much if you die. In comparison to the CT's Famas which is the worst rifle in the game by a longshot and costs 250 more than the galil it has no redeeming stats against the galil and because of this disparity in weapon effectiveness most CT's have to rely on the safer option which is the MP9 leaving the CT's without the long range effectiveness and relaying on close quarters combat to make the most out of the gun.
What i propose:
- Swap Galil crouching and standing inacurracy with the famas
- Nerf Galil's recoil make it more in tune with the ak's just a tad bit less than the ak
- Nerf recoil cooldown to be worse than both M4's
- Reduce armor penetration to match Both M4's (70%)
- Increase Famas mag size to 30
- Reduce Famas Price to 1950
- Adjust blood for clearer visual hit confirmation: This has been bothering me since launch i cannot precisely tell how many shots landed on the enemy's body and i have to come up with a random damage number i think ive given to the enemy. In CSGO the visual hit confirmation of the enemy's blood splatter was so good i could instantly tell how many shots landed on my opponents and give accurate info on how many shots landed on my opponents. Valve pls adjust.
- Valve Deathmatch Servers: Reduce Spawn protection from 10 seconds to 3 seconds. Bullets refunded after a kill.
- Adjust movement animations and make them a bit stiffer
Additions:
- Reintroduce the remaining maps: Cobblestone, Train, Tuscan, Lake and shortdust (Cache is a fmpone map so i dont include it on the list)
- Introduce a new Viewmodel menu in the game settings: This is the last important aspect of the game that is behind console commands only.
- Re add characters Factions to the maps, it expresses more personality and uniqueness to the maps.
- Add an animation when defusing the bomb: With CS2 introducing legs, nade inspections and a rechargable zeus i dont see why we cant have a defuse animation.
- Reintroduce Danger Zone
- Introduce a Water Detail Setting: This could help a lot with the optimization on some maps.
- Re add clan tags
Conclusion:
I believe most of the things i mentioned will be addressed in the future but its up to valve to decide how soon they want to address it, i also added some subjective opinions of features that i would like to be added or adressed in the future that could make the game feel more submersive than before. CS2 isnt far off to being equal to CSGO but in a game as CS inconsistencies such as crouch jump not being as reliable can make or break a match.

In the future? Game has been out for over a year and satill has a trash anticheat, where is train? this new “tick rate” is absolute trash compared to 128 tick.
They couldnt fix any of this in a years time… I dont see CS2 improving as much as you guys might think.

None of these matter without serious fundamental changes to Subtick and an actually functional Anti-Cheat. You also glossed over their complete disregard of the community side/modding, which has always been a huge aspect of previous installments.

Apart from everything if cs2 doesnt remove subtick servers im never coming back, i know they will never go back on the idea of subtick so its safe to say cs is in the past for me, havent played this game once in 5 months

For me its, add viewmodel_recoil 0, bob options, make kill animations same as in CSGO and do something with movement. Also bring back train and cobble
Famas also has notoriously horrible spray pattern.
This probably one of the biggest reasons why shooting with this gun feels so off.

Deathmatch and Gungame are horrible game modes. In Deathmatch you’re getting fucked from behind all the time and if you run out of bullets it’s over too. Bullet refund on kill would be much better as well as a better spawn algorithm.
Gungame is the worst. Some maps feel so slow. Most of the servers are filled with bots. Also, leveling up guns takes too much time until you can shoot. If there are three enemies you will always only get at most 3 because after the first two you’ll have to wait 1-2 seconds to be able to shoot again. The gun should be ready to shoot right on switch.

I’ve never even heard of that, and they’ve already made the whole bomb defusal way better already. You now get the audible change in beep sound at the ~11s. You can also see if the CT has a kit based on the wire color (green=kit, yellow=no kit).
Also what’s your problem with the Galil? If anything I’ve seen less people use it in CS2, cause everyone is using Mac10/MP9 now.
I like when people create such posts and propose something. But PLEASE, add sources (videos/screenshots) to what you are talking about. Like yeah, in theory i could find myself what you are talking in the “**Fix third person finishing defuse animation**”, but if you propose something and make such post, you should put more work into it and show how it was in CSGO and how it’s now in CS2. “**Fix Movement affecting crosshair on sloped surfaces**” show it to me. I am not saying that is not an issue, i can assume, that this happens, but show it to me to 100% understand it. Without proper sources/proves your text loses A LOT.
I am not trying to be toxic or complain just to complain, just sharing my opinion on how i would do this. People need to see proves of your words, what idea you propose and how it should look/work.
Might have to give it a few more years. CS2 is arguably still new. CS:GO had the same shitty situation (minus the cheatesr) on release, worse even.
With the tech even greater now it’s likely most of the issues will be fixed with time. We can only cope
Biggest problem for me is the hit reg. 20+ yrs AWP one-trick pony and I can tell it’s extremely inconsistent (compared to earlier instalments)

These are changes you can do AFTER you address the real problems with the game.
Subtick is nice but it only affects the less than 1% of players that play on lan. Subtick is crazy on zero ping.
Source 2 and game optimization. This is a no brainer, hit reg, movement, fps overall feel if you go try out go vs cs2 is night and day. People can cope all they want but CSGO feels better.
Vacnet 3.0 just came out so we should give it time to settle in but it’s time to address that we need an intrusive anticheat for premiere.

Enough with this “same maps for 30 years, same maps forever” sentiment. The reason we have beloved maps is because people made a bunch of maps, and in those pools of maps some were linked and some weren’t. We should have regular creation and testing/fielding and turnover of maps…that is the only way to find new classics.
Anyway Valve should change the absurdly goofy cartoony color palette work in CS2, it’s an obvious desperate pathetic reach toward Overwatch/Fortnite and is a ridiculous clash with the aesthetic that Counter-Strike was and should be.
