    Crazy how 99% of repairs make it through unscathed yet that 1% looks like they dug it out of the ocean lmao

    They need to have their technicians sign off on the repairs so they have someone to blame.

    $12k for a laptop….Does it have a 7090 with an 8k quad BrOled xtvf700 + dual triple z50 quintuplet turbine tornado intake freeGsync arctic liquid glacier frost Neptune ozone T-Rex cooling diamond crystals + 128GBs DDR9 ramrod?

    I’m going to assume this type of damage is more to do with the courier than Asus. No repairman would damage or purposefully damage it, I would at least ask them if they could reach out to the shipping company.

    What’s a $12,000 laptop?

    (Seriously)

    Europe has been pushing really hard with regards to big tech regulations around waste mitigation.

    I would love to see Europe set standards for the strength and longevity of products which are sold within the EU.

    * Standardized screen strength ratings
    * Standardized body strength ratings
    * Guarantees for minimum component longevity
    * etc.

    The fact is these companies do anything to save a penny. They would not be willing to pay twice the amount of money to produce two versions of the same product to be sold in two different markets. The costs outweigh the gains.

    You would see global tech standards go up as a result.

    The EU basically saved the world from Apple’s bullshit. Take it a step further and start requiring products to meet minimum strength and longevity standards.

    I literally cannot imagine a viable use case for a 12k laptop

  8. It’s out of warranty, I don’t understand why you’d expect anything more? You should take it up with the service center or the shipper. Was probably damaged in transit I’m guessing. Take them to small claims court.

    Is there any laptop brand that isn’t basically the devil nowadays? Used to hear folks rave about lenovo, but I’ve heard they fucked up on their current 40xx lineup.

    Honestly, I’ve had pretty good success with ASUS products. Can’t say anything for their customer service.

    Never had an issue with ASUS. For over 20 years. Sorry you did.

    There’s no such thing as a $12,000 laptop. There is no single component that could drive a laptops cost up that much. The only possible component that could be $5-10K is the GPU and at that point you wouldn’t run a laptop, you’d get a computational workstation. This guy is over exaggerating the value of their laptop and is likely including his “losses” in what he considers the total cost of the laptop. Truth is it’s a $3-5K laptop at best and he might have got unlucky with Asus support, but it’s more likely the laptop was damaged in shipping either to or coming back from Asus. Asus cares plenty about their customers, USPS/UPS/Fedex, not so much.

    There’s no footage of how the laptop was sent out or how it was returned. Considering the cracks on the screen, I’d assume the box was either handled poorly or something heavy was placed on top of the laptop and it crushed the box and screen.

    More than likely this guy is mad at the wrong people and wants to blame Asus because support took a long time to fix his laptop.

    Same shit can happen with any brand at any service center.

  14. GiggityGansta

    Not surprised at this point, the only people that seem competent at that company anymore are the engineers that design things.

    I was starting to research for laptops

    Note don’t buy ASUS

    Unfortunately I also had a bad experience with ASUS customer service. This was after the gamers nexus video. Support said they were going to create a rma ticket and they never did. He just said random letters and numbers.
