My 4090 crashes after OC/UV and I can’t change the MSI Afetrburern settings anymore

Hello I have the HP Omen 45L with a Ryzen 7900X and 4090 for 2 months now

A few weeks after reception I downloaded the MSI Afterburner to OC/UV per this video : youtube

For about a month my system was fine, and now for about two weeks my PC crashes (instant black screen and fans speeding a maximum speed)… I have to force to shut it down and then restart it.

I thought maybe it was my OC/UV because it happened when I was gaming with very high GPU usage.

Probably went too far on OC/UV so I tried to change the settings back in MSI Afterburner but all the options are greyed out as per the capture (yes I went in settings and allowed to change tension control and monitoring, and opened as Administrator and selected the right GPU).
I tried uninstall it and install it again but no change

Now my computer starts to crash more frequently even when I am not playing any games 🙁

How can I unlock MSI Afterburner ?

Does it still crash if you boot into Safe Mode and completely uninstall Afterburner?
Afterburner only applies the values after Windows has booted, it can’t directly modify the GPU settings somehow.

You could also check the current frequencies, temps, etc with GPU-Z (or HWiNFO).

I have a feeling your graphics driver got fucked somehow. Uninstall it with DDU and then install it again.
