  1. Imagine having planets controlled by automotons and terminids. So while fighting with us would fight each other. That would look awesome.

  2. Only the Flame Hulks and heavy devs are truly effective against the bugs. The small soldiers would be mince meat and tanks wouldn’t do much against chargers and Bile Titans.

Bugs would steam roll the bots.

  3. Hear me out, we let the bugs and bots take over the planets in the top of the galaxy and watch them fight each other. Then we can push them back in other places after they weaken each other

  4. They would never fight each other. They only fight because the USA… I mean Super Earth keeps invading their homes.

  5. The Automatons have a reinforcement production line so good, Im gonna go with automatons here. Having dropships, factory striders and the different variants of hulks and tanks really would make a great difference.

  6. watching giant lasers and orbital cannons battle the Super Destroyers is awesome and makes the bots a lot scarier than the bugs to me. would absolutely love a Terminid mission where some kind of collosal immobile giga Impaler is battling Super Destroyers with its tentacles going all the way into orbit and you have to call in a Hellbomb like with the Orbital Cannons to kill it.

  7. As far as standard units go, think this is a steamroll for the bots. Heavy units are where things get interesting. The bots' tanks could likely stand up to the likes of chargers, but titans and impalers are harder as their peircing attacks would likely shred the armor from most bot units. Ultimately, though, I think the striders and static defenses such as turrets and mortor emplacements give bots the edge.

  8. I think the bots would wipe the floor with the bugs.
Flamer hulks for the hordes. Rocket hulks / devastators for heavies.
Chargers and impalers would be the only real threat I believe.
Of course I'm busy killing bots so their numbers are pretty thin these days

  9. I would guess the Bots, they patrol in groups and can range attack with equal numbers, in minor to major installations they have considerable gun implacements, Mines, Cannon turrets, Tanks and medium and heavy units that could shred and stomp any bugs.

And just two automaton berserkers could shred through swarms until they get picked at enough and die.

  10. The bots defensive capabilities would be able to repel a bug attack.

The chargers, stalkers, and bile titans would tip the odds however.

  11. I feel like they have strengths and weaknesses, but for the most part you would see the automatons gain a upper hand due to the technology level and reproduction and the abilities to deploy mutiple types of counter force multipliers that can also have troop production capabilities not just that they also drop troops off in target locations to destroy staging points for bugs and effectively flank the enemy and could encircle large swarms in a pincer movement cutting off escape routes they have AA capabilities that limit bug air activity also fielding their own air assets filling gunship and troop transport roles effectively also controlling the sky buy the problem with that is they are geared for a semi conventional war the bugs aren't conventional they are a bug species that have a different mind set when it comes to life and war bugs don't have just one specific central command and control like super earth they are a hive mind meaning each bug is part of a network of information and commands and communication between each other and like in star ship troopers they function better with a command element in the colony meaning they become deadlier with high levels of intelligence and from what is happening in recent events and past events hive minds are slowly coming back which means they will move from default sworm and storm tactics and move in to a strategic environment that leads to guerilla combat soft target assaults and hvt charges where they find valued targets and eliminate them then fall back and if persuade lay ambush and destroy light defended targets like outposts and even pressure a response and ambush said QRF but it is only achieved by having a high bug intelligence without it the base tactics are sworm and storm they but what works to their advantage is the hive network the bug commanders can stay under ground directing the colony and issue orders and receive information directly from the bugs making a organic super computer with the bugs acting as it's processing power the more bugs the more power and with more power more options and variables to work with and so for the automatons it will be a slow gruesome battle of attrition buy the problem with that is bugs don't have a central government or city's they have hive cluster which would be the closest thing but problem with bugs is they work as a infestation if 2 or more survive they can regrow anywhere else they don't need logistics they don't need normal rest they function by spreading the colony they expand as a priority and attack anything that threatens the expansion so honestly because they almost mirror weaknesses in a sense of parallel opposites they could war on indefinitely and the automatons would most certainly win big battles but would lose small ones and would struggle to destroy and eliminate hive mind bugs with their ability to evade and conceal due to their subterranean dwelling the super earth defeated them before but the automatons lack specialists like helldivers to undertake this task they don't have highly trained effective 1to4 man fireteams that can eliminate the giant bugs that functions as the mobile brain for the colony it would take nearly a brigade or whole invasion army to destroy them so for the most part they would smash through normal bugs but have to deal with pop ups and mop ups here and their but as the bugs grow and gain hive mind bugs they will start to be on the back foot has the intelligence level of the bugs upgrades dramatically so the only way to deal with the bugs is to limit the expansion as superearth already does to keep big clusters from forming and linking up but they gave failed to remember the underlying places of growth while the bugs pop up on the surface they also dwell underground so these pop up hives are merely staging and breeding grounds for above ground expansion so you would have to deal with the massive unknown underground threat which can be done 2 ways seek and destroy cave and tunnel cleaning or drawing the hive minds out of the super colonies underground to destroy the strategic capacity and mop up the disoriented low tier bugs underground and above like a hydra can't just cut off the head cause the main body will always produce 2 more same for bugs destroy the smart ones they will just grow and expand to make 2 more smart bugs so you gotta destroy the head then the body to destroy the hydra completely which will be long and difficult so yeah a war between then will buy super earth alot of time to relax but also restock resupply and develop equipment and gear but also plan strategically on the next steps forward and assess who would be the bigger threat based on the observation of the two factions in direct conflict of eachother which in my opinion would be the automatons they have the appropriate military structure to combat super earth and to wage war on equal or greater ground they have the technological impact and the logistics to wage a extended period of war with super earth in the same conventional combat as super earth deploys in the bugs on the other hand lack the intelligence right now to conduct itself in the same light but when they do it's still within the goal of expansion grown the colony growing the hive and the mind bugs of said hives but still easy to combat in the sense that super earth has fought and successful contained the bugs and it's spread of growth with the automatons tho it's a war of total elimination two technological powers fighting for resources territory and domination while some believe that the automatons want peace I've not seen any gesture off wanting to talk only conquest and the assimilation of the human species of super earth in to its cybernetic robotic race so it's like terminator while the bugs have a singular purpose to spread and grow it's a infestation one that ants or roaches similar do in real life while again the automatons have same technological capabilities if not better in some aspects and are capable of long distance space combat and have a command structure and a government and society based on the individual level while they give off borg vibes they maintain individualism but are unified in the want to eliminate super earth and it's human race so to put a war of exterminate infestation verses a war of genocide which one is the more existential threat to super earth infestation or genocide and there for I say automatons are the bigger threat they are the most capable to potentially win a war against super earth while yes we won the first war they have developed to go toe to toe and improve far faster the the bugs and adapt fast enough to attack and defend with far more multipliers then before and pared with combined arms mobile doctrine they can definitely be a long costly conflict while the biggest thing the bugs field rn is a bile titan which by itself is no big deal for experience divers but 2 3 or 4 even 5 is a threat

  12. Gunships would kill everything on the Terminid side. Terminids have nothing that can destroy a Gunship Tower.

  13. This may be treason but, I have a bad feeling if they were to meet, they would begin to work together, I don't know how, I don't know why, but that's what my gut is telling me

  14. To use a bit of a fantasy setting to compare to this scenario,

We know that the necrons are the tyranids worst nightmare. And even if they loose, the bugs have no biomass to utilize so it’s a net loss.

  15. I believe the Automatons have the advantage with range weapons and explosives. However knowing how fast the bugs are, the Automatons may become outmaneuvered. Also chargers would destroy both ground forces.

  16. We need to get rid of the automatons we just got simply hold the line against the insects and steamroll the atom tons

  17. I would love it if Helldivers 2 took a page out of Halo’s book and occasionally place the enemy factions against each other on certain planets. So while you’ll be fighting the Bugs and Bots both, they’ll also be fighting each other, it’d be a giant three way fight. And once the Illuminates arrive that’ll mix things up even more.

It’s always great to see smart AI in video games fighting one another, as you sit back and watch the chaos unfold. Pure ecstasy for the eyes.
