Good news, we rebooted after BO4. I’ll try to give the gist of what little I know of the new storyline in relation to BO6
The people in the prison were the support team from Cold War, they were part of a task force called Requiem ordered to contain outbreaks and figure out shit. Since it’s Cold War, we were also working against a Russian version of the same team called omega. One of the scientists from Omega is helping break out the Requiem guys in BO6 so they can all jump Richtofen.
They want to jump Richtofen because he threw them all in jail. In this universe he and Sam are around the same age and work for the US government. Samantha Maxis still has super powers and thus has been kept on a tight leash by the government, for now she’s locked in the dark aether.
