Apparently, the giveaways were not the cause of last year’s “financial problem” and layoffs. My library of unplayed games will continue to grow!

That seems like a pretty good win for everyone. Gamers get some free games, Epic expands their user base, devs get more exposer to their other games, and maybe it will help force a little more competition with Steam. I know that devs would rather sell their games on Epic for the reason of price cut that Epic takes compared to Steam.

I’ve been collecting the free games for a while now, but I think I actually haven’t gotten around to playing any of them.

Isn’t the thing holding epic back the infrastructure that steam provides? Multiplayer. Mods. Community hubs. Server costs for updates and other things.

Like had they had that the exclusivity deals would have been better for the dev side of things outside of a paycheck.

Not saying I like it but seems like a lot of the stuff I’ve seen is that there’s a lot of hidden costs going epic without that backend steam has.
