Some people might even not known these videos exists because the last one was released 4 years ago. Always a pretty chill, fast but awesome video with interviews from the pro himself, friends, family members etc. I understood that they stopped doing it because there was a point where we had one for every popular player but now we have so many new faces who we know little to no background on how they got to where they are. It doesn’t have to be from Valve, but they were such a breath of fresh air during the breaks on the major.

Because valve are too lazy to organize something like this? Duuh
Edit: Yeah
Well lucky timing, Blast and ESL have started making these player profiles themselves. Blast version is more concise, more of an intro to the player. ESL version is more similar to the Valve official one.
Edit: Nvm the Blast version is more similar to Valve’s, while ESL is more like a short documentary.
A lot of the charm and personality of the majors has been completely stripped away, they used to do fantasy teams in game along with the pick ems, obviously the souvenir player signed skins are completely gone, they don’t bother with these type of vids that you mentioned. It’s a massive massive shame because they know everyone will still buy their garbage major pass in game regardless of what’s in it, the exact same thing has happened to dota aswell for the international. Valve have gotten exceptionally greedy and give way less of a shit about what the players love.
I love that many pros have big bro who taught them CS.
Will be up to the event organizers valve has forgotten CS exists since they did these
It’s easy.
Everyone injured themselves playing football and then took up CS or started at the age of 7
CS’s online presence was somehow way stronger before too. It feels like Valve took a step back after Danger Zone, then totally went away since around 2021, developing CS2. But now that CS2 blew up they just don’t care now.
But that would require Valve to ACTIVELY do something… don’t see it happening
Over the last year or so we’ve seen a bit of a resurgance of content like this. Blast has released a few of them over the last few months, ESL just came up with one for Twistzz and Gucci made one of Zywoo some time back (Though that’s probably a one off thing). The thing is though that the videos have only gotten views in the low five digits, which seems to imply that there isn’t that much actual demand for them. Obviously they probably will have great longevity, but TO’s are here primarily to make profit like any other companies and content like this definitely has costs with them.
If there is one this that has been going down hill since the old days its players with personality. Everyone is so correct and media driven these days, there is barely any player actually not giving answers from their social media team.
