Good setup for a mate?

Hello, my friend wants to upgrade his pc anywhere near end 2024. I made a list with some mid tier parts, need some opinion on that list if it’s good 🙂

Thx

Hello CEKfile, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

Why not amd but expensive and older Intel instead?
I’d also get at least 4070 if you want to go Nvidia, the difference is big.

It’s okay if he is looking for budget work/ creativity and 1080p gaming rig. That’s the only reason I could see this build making sense over AMD options. Maybe he needs the extra cores of the i5 and newer nvidia hardware. But if it’s just for gaming, you could get a 5600 cpu and 6800 gpu for same price.

I’d go with the rx 7700 xt instead of the 4060.

  5. One_Run_2833

I’d go with amd’s cpu’s on am5 because their worth more as some of intel best cpu’s are cooked right now

And if your friend doesn’t play a lot of triple AA titles, No need for a 4060 ti. Get an amd card, they have no driver issues now I recommend an rx 6800 or 6750

And that case doesn’t look like it has the best airflow for price, And it all depends if your mates on 1080p you will not need a build as much as this

Unless he will upgrade to 1440p, Are you building the pc because if you are that’s the best value cheapest way to do this

Prebuilts have some good things then other things you don’t want. When you buy each component you will have everything you want for your purpose

I’ve got a similar build but a 3060 and I play games just fine almost always on max settings. A lot of people just love to go overkill with computers not sure why

It’s a good build apart for the fact you could save an extra $50 and get a 4070 instead of the 4060 ti for a huge performance upgrade
