As a German I always find it a bit cringy if the translation of “you” is the formal “Sie” instead of the more casual “Du”. There are places of course but most of the time it’s not fitting at all. At least in Portal I would expect that Glados mentions the player with an informal “you” just to mock her test subject further after you killed her.
The fluid use of “you” in the English language is one thing I would love to see adopted in German someday.
