Agh, I’m new to posting on reddit even though my account is old… See, I don’t even know how to edit my post, lol
I was basically saying that these are my first Delids, and that I was told that the E8400 was only (known to) come soldered. Was also told to post this here – please let me know what you guys think 🙂
What’s funny is that the Soldered E8400 separated very easily (in fact too easy) – and the one with thermal paste was a nightmare, I tried for 2 days before finally managing to delid it.
Used my penknife and hands (ouch)
Again – Sorry if I did something wrong, I’m new to posting and very dumb!

Have you checked with CPU-Z?
It’s rare but some chips are re marked and sold as a higher chip, will be intresting to see if CPU Z shows anything.
I notice in the second photo the chip on the left has a silver dot at the top left, has the right chip got the same dot under the slicon glue?
