After outbreak and MWZ I’m not sure if a standalone zombies game could work…
After playing those two modes, I feel like if there was going to be a stand alone mode then that could be good or bad.
I feel like if they were going to do a stand-alone game I have a possibility that is going to be more like Warzone and MWZ but us killing zombies
With probably a high lobby of 120 people in the lobby.
Personally, I do think they should do this. Have all the call of duty zombie game mode and pack them into one.
Like basically halo, master chief collection like we’re playing WAW, BO1, and BO2

BO4 had nothing but zombies (aside MP prop hunt n SHlT), no campaign
I would love it, but I don’t know how they’d pull it off since the majority of the maps are unique because of the original engine in terms of playstyle, look, and sound. This becomes increasingly complicated when you include non-Treyarch games like IW, AW, and WW2.
Also, I believe it causes copyright issues with the celebrity crews, but feel free correct me if I’m wrong.

Should’ve already happened around bo4 time, now they’ve switched to the cold war style, the maps’ story alone defeats the purpose
At this point it wouldn’t be stand-alone, it would just be another option in the CoD HQ like Warzone, not directly tied to titles but still part of CoD
A campaign style version along with remastered round based maps would be fire imo
For the ones who never got to experience the older zombie maps and their easter eggs they could experience it through the campaign. WaW-BO4 in story mode. The radios turned into cutscenes. Imagine the games first mission/tutorial would be the great war and how Pablo teleports great war Richtofen to Alcatraz and then the story starts from WaW.

just give us remastered versions of all maps from WAW-BO4, slap it in a game, id eat that up

Only if it had the love, level of story telling, and charismatic characters of WAW – BO3 and played nothing like the BO3 zombies campaign.

Honestly my whole thought process with call of duty as a whole would be:
1.gulf war releases:maybe ZC2 dlc since 360 store shut down so no more bops 2.
2.MW3/4 releases finishing up that story
3.Activision take this time and invest heavily in developers new and young to learn the trade. By making collections. Here we see a few collections released over the next 5-7 years that are multiplayer and campaign only and utilizing the Omni movement system, a hud main menu system and remaster/remake older games:
•World war collection:cod1-3+dlc, world at war, vanguard, WW2. Bring back the cod WW2 hud and utalize the way they did drops in the hud. Season passes never expire and only draw items from the cod shop.
•Bops:1-3+gulf war+Cold War. Bring in the Bops2 hud. A use the Cold War cosmetic systems but all season passes never expire and only draw items from the cod shop.
•Warfare:going dark collection:MW1-3, AW, IW, ghost. Bring in a new unique hud for this.
•Warfare: modern collection:MW1-3(4)
Then utilizing the same engine through all of these, combine all the games assets and a re traced Zombies from the classic aether era and make a Zombies game that utilizes all assets, Omni movement to slaughter slide and dolphin dive, all eras of zombies into 1.
That is my dream. Then I’d likely do this down below in a 2nd reply.
Just remaster and repackage waw-cold war and boom there ya go. And if they HAVE to have DLC, AW, IW and WW2. There ya go

No, because I fear it becoming its own game would mean serious neglect – Raven would probably be in charge of it, and it would get drip-fed minimal content in a Warzone-like way. I just don’t see them making it a full-budget title, and the compromises wouldn’t result in anywhere near the best experience.
As many issues as the mode recieves being tied to the rest of CoD, being severed from it would hurt more than it helps. You’ve seen what happened when the Multiplayer audience pulled away from IW and BO4? This would just be that, but killing the entire mode instead of just one game’s take on it.
Yes, I don’t want to install a 200 GB game for the sake of 30 GB zomebie content.

Very interesting question. At face value, that sounds awesome. But if you think about it realistically for a few seconds it loses its luster. When warzone came out they couldn’t support 3 game modes within the same game. The different development studios don’t have a good track record of being able to balance support between the modes of the game they develop in terms of bug/glitch fixes and adding content. So I would think that if they were to make a complete standalone zombies game they would be adding more features besides just the survival zombies mode meaning it would be comparable in size and price to a full fledged game. Which also means that due to the fact that warzone and multiplayer get all the attention the zombies game would fall to the wayside. If it was a smaller game then it wouldn’t really make sense to make it a standalone game. In reality the idea doesn’t make much sense and wouldn’t pan out very well but in an ideal world it would be awesome if zombies was as popular as mp and wz so we could realistically get a full zombies game with adequate support and content. Zombies is my favorite game mode so I would love that but unfortunately don’t think it’ll ever happen
