Die Maschine or Kino Der Toten is the best for a new player.

As a starting map, it’s definitely kino. It’s a simple yet fun introduction to BO1 that can attract both casual and hardcore players. In my opinion there are multiple maps that are better on this list than kino, but not as a starting map.

My choice for a favorite is Zombies in Spaceland.
For a best starter map, I’m going to list my parameters, basically I am taking this as someone’s first map ever, their introduction to the series.
This takes out Nacht as it’s bare bones and won’t introduce a player to perks nor pap.
I would deem Tranzit, Shadows, and the Bo4 maps I would say are too complex for a person’s first experience, Tranzits too large and is a Maze plus the fog n shit, Shadows has the rituals and margwa which can be too difficult to a brand new player, and Bo4, it’s just complex.
I’m getting rid of ZiS due to the brute being a bit difficult and it introducing features only in IW.
Vanguard first map just sucks, it’s 3rd and 4th map are fine but the first just sucks.
I’m not including Exo as I’ve never played it, not including Extinction due to it being a different type of mode, not including MWZ due to never playing it, and not including Mauer, Firebase, nor Forsaken due to them being added after and I wouldn’t count them as starter maps even if they are free.
That leaves us to Kino, Five, and Die, Five is too difficult, Die has cold wars gimmick which deducts point imo since it will teach the new player features that won’t appear in other titles.
Therefore, as overrated it is, Kino is what I would say is the beat starter map, it teaches the player about perks, pap, doors, traps, specials, hellhound rounds (changes in future titles but is usually there), and give them a decent challenge but isn’t too difficult, it also doesn’t have a game gimmick like gobbles, specialists, loadouts, tokens, or any other gimmick.
Edit:and just for clarification, I’m not including Nightmare as it’s a different mode and I’m not including Dead Ops since, it’s a different mode.

Zombies in space land is quite literally the best. Such a great take on zombies, I wish they would have kept up with it in MW2/3
