  1. Training mode has some kind of bug where it’s been breaking the audio. Been happening to me recently as well. If you don’t restart your game before playing, you won’t have enemy footsteps, gunshots, or vehicle noises.

    Disable 7.1 surround sound.

Delete/Disable audio driver from device manager and restart.

Always use “stereo” for gaming. 5.1, 7.1 surround sound always have with audio clarity in-games, especially ones that do it through software. Often, the game engine already does the work, but designed around stereo headsets, so you end up with conflicts that result in “dead spaces”(usually behind you)

Go to your sound properties, configure your “speakers” to stereo. Make sure in the properties, you go to the last tab(spatial) and disable it.

Make sure you don’t have realtek, dolby atmos, or any other third party sound driver that tries to emulate 5.1/7.1. In-game options, make sure stereo is selected, and if available, HRTF.

You might also have a headset that has that sort of function built into it, in which case, I would not recommend them for gaming if you are playing multiplayer FPS games. You want over ear(closed back) or IEMs that have noise canceling padding in order to get the clearest audio. If you have something to adjust frequency response, you can also reduce low frequency volume(1-100 hz) to help you hear a bit more clearly.
