I think the double elo loss for leavers is unnecessary. Half it for the other players for sure. But what if your net drops out, or you get the can’t rejoin bug – you’re already frustrated that you couldn’t rejoin, now it counts as two losses?

I had pc issues cause me to have to restart and even after I made it back to finish the game I still got a 1 hour ban.
I have had leavers maybe 10+ times in the time I had that one issue.
I’ll gladly take a double elo loss the next time that happens.. it’s just points, if it discourages leavers.

I hope they add detection for game updates, I wasn’t allowed back into a match after small update and got a ban.

Losing half elo with a leaver should’ve been added to CS years ago, because you can easily just disable the feature for those who are queued together (assuming they’ve done that, I ain’t reading it).
As for losing 2x elo for leavers, people always overreact to it. “What if (inconvenience) happens?!”, well, bad RNG, you were losing elo anyway. And if this is something that regularly happens to you, you deserve to lose the elo because it’s fucking over everyone else.
I beg Valve adds at minimum the reduced elo loss with a leaver.

I don’t like double elo punishment for leavers. It is fair if they left by themselves, but it is not always the case. I had couple leaver bans, but every time it was technical issue. It is frustrating by itself, and double elo loss will make it so much worse.

If you’re constantly having tech issues that cause you to abandon games and are therefore mad at the 2x ELO loss, fix your rig or don’t play. You’re just as bad as someone who leaves on purpose.

Now when im at 2500 elo it doesn’t happen often but i remember when i used to be below 2k it was pain in ass to advance due to bots abandoning games all the time. If you don’t have enough time or good enough rig and internet then don’t play and stick to Valve mm.

I have been noticing a worrying increase in fresh account “gods” in higher lvl 10 lobbies. I fear that giving pugging a monetary incentive like this will NOT have a good outcome… especially when the cheats+smurfs level has already risen dramatically without this.
The incredible amount of cheating in MM + premier will (and is already) seep(ing) through to platforms as faceit, as it is simply the only way some kids learn to play the game. This will only add fuel to the fire I fear.
