Hi community – having some CPU temp problems on a new build (Arctic iii, 14900K, 4090) – every time I open an game the CPU temp launches from 40C to 100C, which is affecting performance and will probably cause damage.
Arctic iii seems to be installed correctly, fan is on, and pump seemingly ok – any other advice? Bit of novice when it comes to builds (I didn’t build it btw, someone who is well respected in the field did).

Well respected doesn’t mean it’s got a perfect mount or that they didn’t forget the plastic on the bottom of the cold plate. If it is a good mount then I would check bios for what speed you have it set it. I always run my AIO with pump and fans separated. The pump stays at 65% all the time and the fans ramp up and down woth load. If you have it running too slow it may be the cpu heats up to quick before the water really gets moving again.
