Strange (really loud) noise coming from PC (possibly water coller)

Hey guys! So the PC has been making some really low squeaking noises since yesterday, but today it got a bit louder and I decided to investigate and also take the opportunity to do usual cleaning. Yesterday the watercooler (I assume) was also way louder than usual, just the usual noises, but louder.

Anyways, after I reassembled everything, it was fine (and silent) for like 10 minutes and then started a REALLY LOUD noise (scared the shit out of me). Sort of like a really loud mosquito. What could this be? I tried manually spinning the left fan on the water cooler and it did sound squeaky, so could this be lubrification? It’s so loud though, I’m not convinced this is just a squeaky fan and I’m really scared to turn the pc back on and damage something

The hamster is running too fast

  2. Doesn’t sound like a fan to me, water cooler pump would be my best guess. Exactly where is the sound coming from? In an AIO the pump afaik is on the CPU block and not where the fans are, if the sound is coming from there its probably that.

Try putting your pump to full speed for about an hour. Also lift your pc & rotate it in the air. Hoping it would get rid of air bubbles. Instead you can also take out the radiator & rotate it around while it’s pumping water.

It sounds like your computer is on crack

Try stopping each fan individually (including GPU fans, excluding PSU fan) and see if the noise stops. If it persists, briefly unplug the AIO pump and see if it stops. If the sound persists, get your PC exercised because there are demons inside.

Sound is one of the greatest battles in this elite privileged platform. I dream my next build will entirely be without any moving parts.

That’s a pump either failing or running dry
