A lot of the same arguments in this piece are again being made almost 20 years later.

    It’s a bit different now.

    Once we reach 10 billion triangles per second the human eye will be (theoretically) at saturation point.

    The best possible now is around 1 billion triangles, but they’re working on it continuously and 10 billion by 2030 is probable.

    Unlikely the cost/benefit will justify the chip necessary for gaming.

    Personally, graphics are still blowing my mind just using a PS5 and the next step up will very likely be all I’ll ever want.
