I don’t know when they started doing this, but I’m baffled.
- WTF, my Walmart is selling PC components, including a 7800X3D?
- They sell GPUs, PSUs, CPUs, RAM, and a compatible motherboard, but they don’t have coolers or cases, unless you get a CPU that comes with one in the box. They even have case fans, but no cases.
- They have a display tag for what looks like an Intel i9-14900K but no compatible motherboard.
- There is DDR4 RAM on display next to DDR5 RAM but no compatible motherboards (I’m assuming you’d pair it with maybe a prebuilt they sell next to them, but I don’t think a sales rep will know the difference or know enough to say which one to use.

Any good deals?
They’ve been doing this on and off for years… It never sticks around because Walmart is usually around best buys and people would rather go to a best buy than Walmart since there’s more selection. In my case, there’s a micro center 10 minutes away, which is also next to a best buy. idk why anyone would go to a best buy when they can go to micro center.
That’s pretty awesome, even if you don’t need it. My Walmart doesn’t sell any pc parts and the closest microcenter is 4 hours away. I am stuck with Amazon 🙁
