The gaming industry owes a lot to Tom Clancy, his gaming and literary endeavors brought us a ton of amazing series, and many others influenced by those.

I kinda doubt Tom Clancy had anything to do with making the games. But yeah, fun books.

Sad how Ubishit ruined this franchise.

I played Rainbow Six back when it was 3rd person perspective.

Splinter cell is my favorite game franchise. Sucks that ubisoft hasn’t made a splinter cell game in 11 years.

My favorite was that obscure turn based tactics game on 3DS, super unexpected little gem. Shadow Wars.

OG 1990’s Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear were my thing for a long time, i really enjoyed them and what they were doing.

Patriots…one of the saddest games for me that never saw the light. I was so excited for that game after Vegas 1 and 2. What they showed after the hack was so awesome. I was amped….then devastated

Endwar was a weird but fun take on the console rts genre. Esp with its microphone integration

Ghost recon before ubisoft fucked it up

Never been into “soldier” games myself. Have not played any of these, except 1 level of Rainbow Six.

Man, playing Rogue Spear high as shit using beanbag shotguns was so much fun. Good times.

I’m not happy about it but it’s true.

I’m pretty sure Tom Clancy was an operator for the CIA. I think a lot of his earlier books were based on his real life, that he was John Clark and George Bush was Ryan.

The best game was Splinter cell Blacklist….Why the devolopers had not released any other series…?

I would say that devs and companies are way softer than they were in the past. Nearly every book from Tom Clancy is based on Cold War or conflict still going on into the current events. And if we don’t want to look at the past, the current fights are pretty simple, it’s Ukraine and ISIS or Hammas vs Israel. This is an incredible setup for next Tom Clancy’s games. Like new Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon or even new brands…
The Division is incredible series and it works pretty well, thanks to post-apocalyptic scenarios… but for Ghost Recon and mostly Splinter Cell (and many opportunities to make a spin-off, like even Jack Ryan game for instance) there is a fear to get involved in politics, which is much more rough thanks to social media.
It’s just pretty complicated (for today’s business) to point at anyone and said – he (or country) is the villain and we are gonna fight with him… It would be incredible to have a option to play NEXT Splinter Cell game, aka new adventure/mission of Sam Fisher, working in silent on the new big threat.

Splinter Cell Blacklist was an immersive experience. The game cut-scenes and dialogues totally gives the movie feel. I hope they release like spin-off…without ruining the franchise .
