I contacted Sony support (via their Online Assistant). First thing they wanted was online ID, first name, last name and contact email….Google states Activision uses Salesforce to serve gaming community, Computer Weekly dated 20 Sep 2012 and the two under that entry relate to the same.

I dunno, car_email_service looks kinda legit and i wouldnt risk it.
You should accept and comply to everything they ask.

Absolutely not. As someone who used to be an Activision ambassador before it dissolved in 2021, whilst we did use Salesforce for the live text chats, we never had corresponding email addresses provided, nor did we ever ask for the last name of any customer. As far as I remember, it was only a first letter basis, but you might (strong emphasis on that) have asked for their first name for the sake of customer service. Gotta say, many an hour was spent helping the community, while it wasnt paid, I do miss it a little bit. Always felt nice when you were able to get something resolved by going above and beyond, or the range of people you’d meet. It’s a shame it got dissolved, and I have no idea why to this day.
