In CS:GO, you had to be discerning about which weapons to include in your loadout, which meant that some were just always left out.
But Counter-Strike 2 has attempted to change all of that. Guns that were often pushed to the side are now available to use in your arsenal, if you choose to put them there,
But has CS2’s loadout system actually improved the game in the way that Valve hoped? Or are certain weapons still being left behind? And is this new approach actually hurting the game?

ya its great and all you can use m4a4 and m4a1s, the problem is THERE ARE ONLY 5 GUNS PER TIER, this is terrible and theres soo many weapons that cant be used now, ruining variety, and the only reason they keep this is because their little artist that made the UI would have to be paid again to change what it looks like and god forbid valve makes their employees do anything
Ngl i used the m4a4 but after the a1s Update i cant Go Back. Not because the m4a1 is so great but because it fits so much better into my Loadout lol
I don't feel like it's the loadout causing issues, i think it's the community, although mid teear does need another slot for a weapon.
new loadout is dumb. should be able to buy every single weapon in one match. thats part of counter strike
There needs to be a new tier list if Valve are going to add new weapons as I've read somewhere they will, a tier-list called "MEME LIST" where we just screw about with m249s, R8s and sawed off that pulls from ALL the weapons, not just a category like "mid-tier" or "pistols". Also, I personally think the M4s need to be priced at 3000 and leave it at that. Part of why the M4A1 is picked more is not just its superior accuracy and damage fall off at range, its 200 dollars less which, in a now even more stricter economy of CT side, is a no brainer to get more utility or squeeze enough to buy a kit that can win a whole game.
Also, they need to give us a legacy sound option to bring back the old weapon sounds for our personal enjoyment 😀
Edit: Nvm, M4s should be 2900, both of them, read reply for that reason. Famas is ass, should be like 1800 too.
i feel that the loadout limits choice too much, cuz one of the best parts of cs is having fun with friends and using funny guns
No awp loadout is best.
Loadout system is the worst thing in CS2. I cant use troll / fun guns because they take space from better weapons. And when i play arms race, i dont even get to use my skins for weapons that are not in my loadout. Let us have all the guns!!
This video is absolute trash. Why do you show several youtubers quoting the same information over and over again that was given in the first 30 seconds. We all knew from the very first time that you can equip both M4s and Deagle and R8 at the same time. We are not braindead, no need to have it repeated throughout the video by 20 different YTers
From a design perspective it's important that the option to buy the other gun is there even if you never buy it, and this is kinda true for every game out there regardless of genre. For the player's enjoyment of the game, "the M249 might be good here…too bad I can't buy it" is way worse than "The M249 might be good here and I can buy it next round…nah ain't no way", even though the end result is the same(that being M249 never being bought).
It doesn't really matter. We all mostly use the same 7 guns LOL
I think a good idea would be to let the player add the amount of guns per category.
If I only ever buy 3 SMGs, then I can enable only 3 slots so that the buy menu isn't too cluttered. If I want to use more, I can add spots.

bizon needs some buff , mp9 needs a nerf , ump needs a small buff , ssg needs price increase , m4a1 needs price adjustment , famas needs to be better than mp9 , nova needs just a little more damage , sawed off needs just a bit of more range , m249 hmmmm lower recoil perhaps, and negev was in a ''test period'' since 2017 , it costed as much as the m249 , now its cheaper has a laser recoil , maybe buff damage of m249 or make it a laser like the negev , and revolver needs be more accurate on right click to at least mid range, imo so all weapons are used at the same time ,
you never see the mp7,ump,bizon,p90,nova ,xm ,mag, revolver, some say are for the better , but they have their role into the game just that they are not worth the money most of the times
I think the a4 is bought the same, but for a slightly different reason.
In csgo it was more expensive and while better in my opinion, not good enough. Now it's just the mroe expensive option, so it's the same as with the aug. Pros would rather save the 200$
Addressing the end card statement; r8 does that for $600 and it deals 91-81 dmg to the chest
I have both m4s in the loadout, but i never feel like the $200 increase on the m4a4 is worth in what usually feels like a worse gun. so it goes untouched.

"what are you gonna do with an ak and 29 health?" well gee mister, idunno, 1tap people? You still survive the first bullet of like 95% of the arsenal of any CT, so it doesn't really matter as much. Still a lot worse than being on like 74 hp of course, but not as bad

Sure limit choices for competitive play it makes some sense. But screwing up casual in the process shouldn't have happened
The appeal of casual CS back in its early days was its weapon variety and sandbox. Removing that element just ruins the experience
I suggest for casual to have a 1.6 style menu with all the weapons available. No limits.

it literally saved the game. Because to play auto sniper you have to manually drag it into the loadout list and most people are too lazy to do that.
I think it’s an overall improvement. Most of the weapons were never used and you would’ve killed to have both the A4 and A1S available. It only reduces the "troll" aspect of the game which is something I’m ok with for CS2 specifically.
I'd rather just hear Dmitri's loadout. Or just call him the guy who actually knows what hes talking about with respect to Counter Strike
If you don't have r8 equipped when you play inferno, you're living in the past. Spamming short wall is INSANELY powerful.
There's another issue that affects the m4a4 usage at all levels especially including pro play, and thats the increased cost. The MR12 economy is a huge problem for CT's in CS2. You don't think of it as much, but the amount of times the $200 difference between the a4 and a1s has been the difference between a kit or a piece of util while in a close game is pretty high. Why would you lose a vital piece of utility or a kit for 10 extra bullets? Or even if you can afford to full buy, using the a4 loses you $200 which may be vital to your ability to full buy next round. There is no justifiable reason to buy the A4 over the A1-S with how tight the CT economy is in this meta. Sure 10 extra bullets may sometimes make the difference between 3 kills and 4 kills without having to reload, but the majority of the time that won't make the difference.
I always used the a4 but when I didn't have the money to buy an a4 I would buy a famas in csgo but cs2 loadout change has really helped in getting more kills as I can buy a1-s instead of a famas as an a1-s is infinitely better than famas. I love the current loadout system and I don't think there should be any changes made to it unless they introduce a new rifle which is comparable to an ak or the m4's then we would need an extra slot.

And like it was mentioned at the end of the video, CS is the game where people stick to the same weapons all the time.

They need to change how the economy works. The number of rounds have decreased but the kill rewards still remain the same, this is the primary reason I've stopped using M4A4. I never used M4A1 in CSGO at all, but now I have to use it cause it's $200 cheaper.

I don't play cs but I'm curious. Wouldn't the more accurate gun be better at short to medium range as well as long range. Surely there are better reasons to use the m4a1s?

Why is the M4A1-S used over the M4A4? In my opinion simply because of the price difference. As long as both perform similarilly welll, the cash starved CT will always prefere the cheapest version and the switch to MR13 just exacerbate the problem with less occasion to build up cash for buy rounds.
I always thought Valve should have both at the same price tag if they want to see both used. Honestly if Ihave 3100$ to spend on a rifle then I probably have 3300 to spare and rather go for the AUG.

M249 still being 5k is just a joke. Anyone who has trolled with that gun knows it's worse than even the negev lol. What they should do is increase the bounties gained on the not used guns incrementally until the right number is found. That would make them an interesting choice. Sure they are not good guns, but if you can get some significant bounty money off of using them then maybe it is worth the risk. Also the M249 could be $2000 and it still not be seriously picked in CS2 lol. So why not cut the price?
