  1. Perfect Dark wasn't just the best FPS on the N64, it's one of the best FPS's ever made. To this day I can't recall a single other game on any other platform that gives you the multiplayer customization options like that game does. If there was ever a proper re-master for the PC released, I'd buy that shit in a heartbeat as well.

  2. Very good video. For me personally I learned fps games with the Turok franchise. Movement with the C buttons (basically your WASD), aming with the left thumb with the joystick and having "inverted" was my default way for years to play these games and I had no issue at all. It took me some time to adapt to modern shooter controls on consoles like in Halo or so, but your criticism about the controls in Rage Wars is based off what you were used to.

In fact a lot of N64 games had inverted controls as default, like Super Mario 64 or Donkey Kong 64.

  3. I think N64 games actually helped when it came to tutorials like super mario 64 had those sings on the castle teaching how to play the game. And the briefing files on golden eye telling you how to do each mission i mean i am not from the US so i didin't know english it's just now that i understand what the game is telling me to do and i can now play most older games without a dictionary

  4. Holy shit, Gman did really suggest to play Fox's Duke Nukem 64 instead of playing Duke Nukem 64 on Rednukem.

That’s like recommending the DOS version of Doom over the new ports.

  5. I had no idea until this year that Doom 64 was a totally different game than the PC version of Doom. I played it this year in Nightdive’s remaster and I was blown away. It’s so good.

Also, “I can’t leave without my buddy, Superfly!”

  6. It’s worth noting that the perfect dark remaster also got X enhancement. So if you play on a One X or a Series X you get 4k and some other extra visual quality bonuses

  7. We played that single player, we played it multiplayer for years in the 90s… I do not remember those framerate issues. It didn't have framerate issues, man. The game ran smooth, don't know what kind of shitty N64s were being delivered to the UK.

  8. I really appreciate such a review.I personally, due to my age really respect how you handle these materials for review.Just a mention also. You are one of the 3 reviewers i now watch because of your honesty and delivery.I cant help but notice unless a game is really, really bad you are able to show what good or fun there is to had in say a rushed to store shelve game instead of dumping a truckload of shit on the game and that is what seperates from oh so many reviewers that i dont watch anymore.to me its a matter of taking into consideration that people spend part of their lives working on the game.these are not people just doing an asset flip.that means alot to me because i grew up in an era where respect was not an option but an expectation.I can say this truthfully that i have watched hundreds of reviewers and you are one of three now that i still subscribe to.just thought a little respect your way was the least i can do for what you give to us gamers.I said it before but i will say it again, you need to create the manual on how to review a game because you are truly head and shoulders above the rest.😊

  9. Great video, i'm glad Doom 64 is getting a revival. I highly recommend the Doom 64ex+ source port for anyone wanting a little extra from the Night Dive remaster, it also has the ability to play all the magawads for the remaster, including the new ones like Dreamblood and Beta64 Remaster.

  10. Thank you for not jumping on the hate wagon for the N64 controller. I will stand by that controller being so much better than people give it credit for.

  11. I could not got back and play Turok on N64 after playing the remasters on PS4/5. Turok 2 on N64 runs like a slideshow.

  12. I remember long time ago, I had found a game guide for Hey You! Pikachu! describing that game as an FPS but you're just shooting Pikachu with bubbles. So technically there's 2 Pokemon FPSes.

  13. I remember having Turok 1 and 2 as a kid and could never beat them, it was only 20 years later playing as an adult on an emulator I still couldn't beat them.

  14. Saying the dual shock was common is a huge stretch. Most ps owners didn't have it. Meanwhile the n64 came that way originally.

I had a Saturn and loved it.
