Is This The Future of NEXT-GEN Video Game Graphics? [4K]

StarEngine’s capability as the ultimate game engine has been unveiled to the world in its most polished form yet by Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games.

The technology behind this seamless odyssey through time and space, one taking in multiple natural biomes, bustling city interiors, interstellar space, wormholes, space stations, is undeniably impressive and represents a ton of hard graft from the team at CIG. If this is a glimpse into the future, then the future looks very compelling indeed.

However, with this being a technical demonstration only and not representative of gameplay the usual caveat remains – until we see this in situ how can we be sure all these features will work smoothly in game? Just how far in the future are we looking before we get to play Star Citizen, complete with every feature posited in the tech demo?

Remember the video of a "SUPERMAN VIDEO GAME" ? _We never saw more.
🟥 Listen, we don't care about what CAN be done. Tell us WHEN it's out and f'cking PLAYABLE !!!!
    Yeah yeah, wow it's beautiful…
    Keep dreaming 👎👎👎👎👎👎

  2. God I hope not. It looks lifeless and hollow, the sort of stuff Activision and EA will churn out without any artistic thought behind it

  3. Why they create next gen consoles ? Thats my question? Most games are made for pc. What’s the fucking point of having a console then 😂😂😂 only money that’s the future of everything not only for gaming.

  4. Being able to fly from one planet to the other without loading screens has been a thing in star citizen since the release of alpha 3.0 in 2017 . The features of the star engine that aren’t yet into the game are some of the graphical updates , water physics , physicalized destruction , fires and animals . But most of the rest is already in game .

  5. There is no "future" of video game graphics, video game graphics have plateaued a few years ago and will barely get any better than that, almost all developers agree on that. Games will only get bigger and more complex, but the actual graphics will hardly ever change. GTA6 is just one example, its a massive and very complex game, but it looks like something from 2018 or so. I'm sorry to break your hearts graphics nerds, but it looks like your lives have less meaning now 😂.

  6. Most of what you see in the demo is already in game, or due for release this year (and more besides when completed work for SQ42 is merged with the PU branch), so your video is actually unintentionally misleading.

  7. This kind of technology could be available a whole lot sooner than you think buddy. I think in the next 10 years a game will exist that is basically just a simulation of earth in its entirety
