Hello. Going through a bit of a rough period, so I’ve decided to distract myself by playing my favorite series. Here’s what I own.
I’m currently downloading modern warfare remastered (second part of first disk game above).
Do I need to get MW2 and 3? I think inolayrd them on Xbox one a decade+ ago.
Advice on how to play what to get?

Advice don’t play the newer ones they are not worth your time
If you want a timeline order then you go
Vanguard, BO1, Cold War, MWR, MW2, BO2, BO3 Infinite Warfare
But release order is
MWR, BO1, BO2, BO3, Infinite Warfare, Cold War, Vanguard, MW2
I recommend starting off with an easy and simple one like Black Ops II or maybe MWII. The rest you should probably play in timeline order, though, like RestlessRhys said.
Only the xbox 360 one. Dont give yourself a rougher time.
Order of release
Throw them all in your nearest dumpster
The collection, BO4, Cold War then throw out the rest
don’t bother with Vanguard. I really liked the Cold War campaign.
