I had been needing to build a PC for work and had always been a big fan of ITX/SFF PCs. But I like building janky stuff so decided to build my own case. Inspired by an early [Xbox prototype](https://www.polygon.com/2018/7/1/17523100/original-xbox-prototype-aluminum-x-gdc-2000) and Elon Musk’s obsession with the letter “X” I knew I had to build an X-shaped PC.
PC specs: i5 12400 RTX 3060 Ti 16GB RAM 2TB SSD Noctua L9i cooler
Anyone interested in the full build can check it out here: [https://youtu.be/YBei-3ZXTu8](https://youtu.be/YBei-3ZXTu8)
Please help me give it a name lmao

Just FYI wood is a terrible material to build a case from. It’s a very good thermal insulator.

Just want to point out to DIY’ers that you still need to think about grounding when using wood. Your motherboard uses the mount points as grounds and while not needed to run a PC, for longevity it is ideal for them to be tied to ground. Using wood/plastic does not do this unless you tie the points back to ground via plate, speaker cable, or something. The ideal way to do this just to get a motherboard tray and mount that. You can find them on amazon for $10. Also avoid having spots where you would have Metal / wood / metal layers or metal / plastic / metal as that is a basic capacitor. I.E. Don’t set a thin wood or plastic PC on a metal table top. The plastic / wood serves as the Dielectric.

Xceptionally warm, Xceptional insulator, Xceptionally poor air flow, and Xceptionally dusty. It does look cool. See if you can add fans to the slopes on the X to keep air flowing through and add a removable dust screen to the bottom too. Might need to drill more holes in the panels for air too
