Counter-Strike 2’s cheating problem is getting out of control. You simply cannot play the game without running into opponents– and teammates– who are blatantly hacking.
At the same time, we have also seen CS2’s player count drop significantly for the first time since release and it’s been radio silence from Valve.
So, is CS2 already dying? And are cheaters responsible?

Csgo got killed here in SEA and parts of asia because of blatant cheating, I wanted to continue to play CSGO before and be good at it, but you rarely ever join a match where there aren't any cheaters.
As soon as I say "I actually haven't seen any cheaters yet", I'm gonna get matched with a 5 stack next game.
Normal Naming feels so off right now that even face it servers feel better so I have no idea if it’s just placebo or if I’m somehow facing closet cheaters.

the cheating is out of hand. blatant cheaters every other game. who knows how many are keeping it low key.
Since the players dropped I noticed a spike in cheaters too. I thought its actually better early on, but either I am getting more of them because of my higher elo or there are actually more of them each day.
Can we talk about the shit ranking system too? Like premier ratings make sense only if you play full premade, otherwise bullshit. How is NBK getting 2k elo, me who was like LEM in CSGO getting in lobby with sh1ro, have the same rank as s1mple??? Ok you might say play competitive then, surely its better. I wanted to get rank on each map so I started playing… Silver4 on Dust2 after 10/11 wins with most of the time topfragging, Nova1 on Inferno and Silver Elite on Mirage. Excuse me? Now I am not saying that I feel like the best player in the game and I certainly dont play this game for rank, but what are getting people who are beginners? You trying to tell me that me who plays maybe like MGE/DMG on a bad day gets placed in Silver4? Where are all the Nova and Silver players then? In Silver1 and 2? Today we queued Dust2 again, already ranked on that map mind you and our team? Me(LEM on GO), my friend (Supreme on GO), one teammate who was Global in GO, 4th was new to the game and played only few in GO where he got Silver3 and 5th wasnt that bad, my guess would be around Nova3 (didnt say a thing during game) like what the actual fuck is that??? When you have 3 proper game modes you would at least think that those are working fine but arent.

I meet blantant cheats and obvious wallhack dozens of times since cs2 launch and not a single game got cancelled, and I don't even recieve one notification about the player I report got banned.
So I just simply stop playing.

I usually just play casual with my friends and we report and kick cheaters, I miss playing mm but playing with people I know are not cheating is way more fun. It is what it is, I don't expect Valve to do anything. If I didn't have a good group of people to play with I would have quit a long time ago.
honestly i think valve makes a lot of money off of cheaters, a lot of cheaters buy prime and make multiple accounts with prime. Valve just banning them without hardware banning keeps them coming.

Its funny how valve cant detect cheats. But when u leave ur faceit anticheat on valve detects it and doesnt let you play unless you disable it
I feel like this might just kill all fps games in the future.
What is so difficult about REMOVING CHEATERS FROM GAMING?
I have a video submitted to steam support with obvious cheater on the match. I reported to steam and in game and they say that its out of their control haha. Even with full evidence, they wont do anything about it. I guess part of the business

I play on SEA or Chinese Server, surprisingly I barely find any cheater, when on the other game like PUBG or APEX these region are infamous for the Cheating problem
All we wanted was 128 tick and an anticheat that worked.
