What Anomaly didnt mention tho, skins like Printstream or the Nocts Gloves will still go up in value, they dropped because of the failure to switch to cs2, but they are working around the clock to fix all the issues, the Printstream already has recieved a "buff" but will 99,9% get buffed again, the holo effect just hasn't fully developed in the new source engine.🍆
Let's be real here, NO ONE could have predicted CS2 was going to flop. On paper, buying in before the launch of one of the most anticipated games ever was a no brainer. The worse part of this situation though is that it's going to get alot worse before it gets better.
If I were a serious investor I'd sell now because I'm predicting that the coming year is going to be the dryest period in CS history.
I think everyone was expecting a lot more at release like a operation all the maps from last game and new ones, and game modes. But it was literally just 5v5 format and death match with only 7 maps in premier and 9 in comp that is like nothing at all. Skins crashed because everyone downloaded cs2 and went oh so they just took shit out of Csgo and released this game great.
I wondered what kind of uneducated swans actually thought this will make them some kind of profit.. Basic economic knowledge or even average IQ should understand how price inflation works.
This reminds me of the situation that happened a few years ago on WoW (World of Warcraft) private server – Warmane. At a certain moment, they decided that there is too much gold on the server and they will cut everyone's gold in half. At that moment, people went balistic with the investments (including me), because, hey, it's better to hold my value in items instead of the gold. Before the cut, prices of items went 20-30% up. At the end what happened, everyone had too many items in the inventory, auction house was overstacked. It turned out it would have been better if you just held gold and allowed it to be cut in half then doing any investment.
My point – I think this would happen regardless. Even if the launch was perfect and game got a lot of new players. There is no other game as far as I know that has this kind of overpriced cosmetics, so, only small % of the new players would be confortable enough and have means to pay this much money on the game they have just started playing.
