problems: 1- personal performance is based on team's performance. 2- the more you play, the more "ELO" you have. if you don't play elo is reduced. so if you do not play you go bad, if you play a lot you are good. what if you play like once or twice a week? what if you play premiere only here and there but play MM more? does that mean your overall rating is bad?
How can you say personal performance doesn't matter when KennyS's win rate was lower than everybody else on his team? Wouldn't it make sense that his placement rating would be considerably lower with that many games lost no matter how hard you carry?
I don't think content creators and the general public understand how ELO systems work anymore.
They need to step away from the team aspect a little bit and give people elo for performance not being funny but if you lose and drop 30+ kills you shouldn't lose elo infact I would go as far to say you should gain some elo. imagine you are under ranked but you don't queue with anyone because people don't take the game serious as you do so you solo Q you run into a team of 3 people similar skill to you but your team are silver none of your team breaks 10 kills but at the end you drop 30 and still lose why hold you back surely you move those players on because it will ruin low elo players games, also you are promoting smurfing…..
i literally dropped 30k almost every game before being granted my elo and i get placed in 1k elo meanwhile braindead players gets placed in 5k elo and dont even know how to throw a flash
Not sure why they cant figure this out, your ELO shouldnt be non stop, there should be a "top" or it should be non stop but the increments it goes up should be so minor that a win is basically negligible – aka if 20k is your "peak" then anything after 20k you get 3 points for a win and against people of your same rank you lose 10 (or similar). It needs to be indiviual based, you can have a team effort in there, but it needs to be balanced not just well they won so you get 100 they lose 200. By having maximum groupings you will increase the player pool, your "yellows" would be 18500-20000 or whatever, but youd have enough of a pool and you play from your pool +/- 50% overlap on the pool below you, and something like your team gets an overall ranking or avg ELO and that AVG ELO has a +/- of the other teams of x % and your elo is adjusted based on that skill separation.
About the Elo how it shows you before the match starts, is i believe based on previous matches, like if you lose one match good chance next match you will get less elo for a win, where as you win twice the amount of elo you will get the next matches goes up, seems pretty decent, but yea, i won 9 in a row, one draw then a win and i got like 8,5k elo, i carried most matches with over 2k damage…
On one side its ok, because people will get into their natural ranks. On the other hand smurfs will become absolute plague if rating systems is not tied to "skill".
Honestly in comp modes like premiere it is always more important for games across the board to be balanced than for high level players to have short queue times.
system is pretty bad, its about your win percentage <50% u loose more than u get and >50% u get more elo than u loose and the more less or high ur winrate is the higher the difference gets, like i had 55% winrate and got +450 and -100 and lost some games and got to 48% and it shows me -300 and +100… Matchmaking is much smaller difference tho the biggest problem is this 5stack against solo que bullshit, im literally playing 95% of my games against 5stacks

solo Q needs to be exactly that – solo Q. stop mixing five solo Q players against premades.
If Valve doesnt move fast this is where CS dies as a franchise for people who really care about the game and supported is for all these years.

This has always been the problem with ELO, because ELO was not designed for team games.

so if there is only 4 gold players then there can not be 22 there would only be 18 players that in red rating
