I don't blame people for feeling that way. Valve spent years cultivating communities of players within CSGO (danger zone community, short match community, surf community, war games community, Mac community) only to abruptly tell them "it's our way or the highway. don't like it? Get lost". It's very unlike valve to do something like that considering they're famously uninterventionalists. Personally I'm not selling my stuff and quitting CS but Im not sitting around with my thumb up my hole waiting for them either. I'll take a break from playing CS, occasionally check the latest patches for anything interesting, play other games and when valve eventually decides to do something, I'll decide if it's worth coming back or not.
People need to stfu about how worried they are. The game just came out and is way better than csgo on release. I agree it feels unfinished. But the game IS going to get better, it plays fine, it looks amazing, give it some time.
Content? Competitive, premier and faceit is the content? What else? Cringe that you don't like the game and only like skins. This is a competitive shooter.
I didnt had access to the beta and literally 3 days ago I played this version for a first time. I like the way it feels and looks. Many things will come with the new updates over time for sure. Regarding the skins – everything that I have I hate it. Most skins look shit with the dated weapon models and I think that once we have 2-3 new cases with skins a lot of the low/mid range skins will just be cents because they look bad. The only thing that will remain high in my opinion is the high end stuf – Dlore, Blaze, Medusa, Howl, etc. But imagine in 1 year when we have at least 3-4 new skins for each gun and no one will pay 300-400 euros for a usp prinstream, because it looks shit in CS2 and people will pay this amount for the newly released covert usp skin that actually has the new model and looks better. So yeah, I think like 70% of the skins will drop in price quite a lot once we start to receive the new cases with cooler skins.
as someone who played the beta a lot, I was a bit underwhelmed by the lack of content in the release, they didn't fix the issues I had a problem with. such as solo q, I just go against 5 stacks and cheaters, and it is really unbearable, on top of the peekers advantage which for a tac fps with a cs standard is absolutely fucked. i sold all my play skins in the beta as they peaked (p2 Dopplers) and will probably re-visit when the game releases more things for me to play for or enjoy.
The spray control is terrible and hackers is way more of a problem than in csgo i cant believe they broke the one game ive been playing for more than 7 years and turned it into a polished piece of sh*t
they should have just made everyone have access to the beta and leave csgo up for couple more months, just feels rushed and I know this community is not the main focus of cs but it feels like they are trying to limit the movement community more : especially with bhopping
They could have AT LEAST throw a new case at us. AT LEAST.
And from a non programmer perspective, I guess a new case is not much effort. I mean, they must have a few skins on hand to throw in a case. And boil it up.
