I believe BO4 was planned for 2 passes before resources were cut. Firstly to finish the Chaos storyline, completing the God Trials before a finale map. Secondly, gathering the rest of the staff gems before the Great War map potentially in teased & forgotten locations.

Undoubtably where DLC3 would have been if Chaos continued. In real life The Library Of Alexandria burned down, losing thousands of scrolls and books. It was a massive loss of human knowledge that set us back as a species.
What secret knowledge could be kept in The Library Of Alexandria. Why did the IX say it must stay hidden? What does Medusa want with it? This could be the Trial Of Ra and a showcase of Egyptian mythology.
###The Gateway/Afterlife
After beating all of the trials, we could pass through the threshold within the Packapunch machine and finally see what is on the other side. It could be like depictions of the Greek underworld, guarded by Cerberus, with areas taken from Tir Na Nog (The Celtic Otherworld) and include aspects of Hel (Norse) and Egyptian Mythology.
Maybe there could be the Gods on the other side. They could explain to us what the order are trying to achieve, if Medusa is defeated by now how do we use that to bring back Alistair. We could meet the IX. The wonder weapons could be the weapons held by the statues (4 elemental wonder weapons!)
