In this video, I talk about the first person multiplayer arena shooter Splitgate, and how the game uses elements from Halo, Portal and other shooters to create an experience like no other. Despite Splitgate being better than Halo, the game was forgotten and abandoned by the developers. Is Splitgate dead? Kinda. But it’s still fun. 4/10
Splitgate (known during development under the working title Splitgate: Arena Warfare) is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by 1047 Games. It was released in early access on May 24, 2019, for Linux and Microsoft Windows on Steam, and on Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on July 27, 2021. A PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version came in 2022. On August 25, 2021, the developers announced that the game would stay in beta indefinitely and at the same time released Season Zero. The game revolves around Halo-inspired sci-fi combat in battle arenas where players can create wormhole portals between two points on the map that have been compared to those of the Portal series, and fire weapons or travel through those portals.

I played this game when it got popular, and I had a blast. I remember thinking I was amazing at the game because of the creative ways to get kills. It was all just so satisfying. But after a few days, the memory of the game existing just exited my mind. it's like some magical force wiped my memory so I didn't play the game again. After watching this video, I am ready to relaunch the game again, thanks!

I can't believe the developers copied mechanics from hit games such as Halo (the pew pews), Portal (the woosh circles) and TF2 (the lack of updates for a time longer than anyone is willing to accept and/or admit).
