Battlestations

my fresh PC build hooked up to a monitor with no stand. I’m using a Bluetooth speaker for audio and have a keyboard out of a police car. I had to cut a drawer out of the desk to get my knees underneath because it’s too short. Oh. and I almost forgot about the ancient surge protector.

The mix of old and new is just absolutely amazing here

  2. The setup is real nice but personally dont like wooden desks. Aside from that looking good !

Keyboard goes hard af, look like it would either be surprisingly nice or complete garbage with no middle ground. Also I think I have that same surge protector somewhere.

I like it! I also like that cobra-hand piece.

  5. There’s a lot to like here. You just need a monitor-arm and some proper speakers/headphones, then you’re ready to rock!

I love the ancient surge-protector. Those things were ubiquitous in the early 90s, everyone had one stuffed between the monitor and whatever was underneath it. And that desk! It’s awesome, it looks like it could tell some war-stories. The cobra/hand-hybrid is awesome, what the hell is it? And a knife in case of emergencies.

  6. Based on the parts: Its shitty battlestation.

Based on the look and feel: this is *gold* brother.

Definitely rustic, that desk is fine, nothing a sander and some paint couldn’t cure and for some reason you don’t seem to a have gpu ?, also the plant obscuring the monitor is just wrong 😜

FYI: That “surge protector” isn’t anymore. MOVs* wear out over time so given that thing’s age they’re done for.

*Metal Oxide Varistor, the core bit that does the surge suppresion.

I haven’t seen that power strip in 20 years

That desk is pretty intense too.

  11. This has “I am temporarily living in my grandparents’ basement” energy. I’m in love lmao
